Spring Newsletter 2022
My goodness – I cannot believe it has been a YEAR since my last newsletter. Is time getting faster these days or is it just me?! There is so much to share and update you with.
In this newsletter, I wanted to focus on our commitment to the planet and our efforts to make Good Home a circular company. The only way my heart can continue creating more – is to make sure it can be done with minimal waste - AND ALSO – supporting local communities, businesses, and their families.

Good Home was not created with products in mind. It was created with a deep love of home life, family – and a wish – to help make every home a good home. Since I started it in 1995, my goal has been to have a business that brings a feeling of joy, happiness, and comfort to your home. It happened to evolve into products and now it is time to evolve further – into a business that does not take more than it gives back and supports the people and communities that support it.
We are small, our impact is small, but it is still an impact. Therefore, going forward we are doing everything we can to be in reciprocity with the most important home of all, the home we all share – our planet Earth.

This isn’t as easy as it feels it should be. There are many complexities, but we are on the journey and will share our progress with you. We also want your help and will incorporate your ideas and concepts whenever possible. Because after all, you are the user and know more about your good home than anyone else.
Our first mission is to change our packaging and not just make it recyclable, but reusable. This has been a 5 year search and thanks to Plaine Products (another small, family owned business – we are one step closer). You can learn more about this amazing company in my podcast interview on Be The Change with Co-Founder of Plaine Products, Lindsey McCoy. Listen here. Expect to see more info from us and our re-usable bottle program this Summer.
Another new development you will see at Good Home are products from local and global artisans and their businesses. If we are to buy furniture, towels, soaps, dishes – they should be low impact, healthy and from local makers whenever possible – we want to make sure we raise others up. All products we include will directly help the makers, from all over the world, small businesses like us, and in many cases keeping an authentic craft (such as soapmaking) alive. Look for these new products in the Summer too.
PHOTO We love these reusable bags for the beach, a trip to the market or anytime we need a lightweight, washable carry all. They are made by upcycling old kiteboarding sails and each bag sold will support the TCReef fund. They are also designed by Willique (link to thewillique.com) a local Turks and Caicos fashion brand and we will proudly have them in stock this Summer!
Lastly – you know I am active in my community, volunteering at our local park, The Battery, helping to support legislation for the environment, and co-teaching a climate club at our local middle school. I recently started hosting monthly Sound Bowl gatherings and hope to create a monthly potluck dinner in my neighborhood.
I think now more than ever we need community and to support one another. If you agree – I would love to see what you are doing! Please email me a photo and tell me about your community efforts. We may feature it in our next newsletter and on our Instagram account (with your permission). If we do share it on our social media – you will receive a coupon for 30% off your next Good Home order. Email me at christine@goodhomeco.com.
I am sending you all my best wishes for a happy and healthy Spring and Summer season. I hope you and your loved ones are all in good health and continue to be so.
Big Love - Christine
