Hi All!

Today I am focusing on the indoor part of my home. It is time to pack up sweaters and heavier blankets. Maybe even change my duvet to a fresh, lighter color, curtains too. As much as I like to do things quickly, giving a little extra thought to the packing process will make the unpacking much easier and far more enjoyable in the Fall.

Be well!

Musty closet smells are the worst – but thankfully we have Good Home Sheet + Clothing Spray. When I created this product it was initially to help fall asleep. Essential oil of Lavender is a great tool and it was our first scent nearly 30 years ago! But I soon found I was using it far more than on my pillows and sheets. It is not overwhelming or heavy in scent and has a water/witch hazel base, not harsh alcohol like a perfume, which means you can use it pretty much anywhere! Including a musty closet. Spray liberally to refresh and then leave a few closet and drawer sachets on the shelves or hang on a coat hanger.

Closet and Drawer sachets are amazing to put in the plastic vacuum bags everyone uses to store off season clothes. Just pop one in and enjoy the benefits when you open them back up 6 months later. They can also be popped into hand bags, shoes, drawers of course and any place you wish to add scent. I love them in a car – much better than the toxic cardboard fresheners which make me sneeze and cough.

Many people ask me how to freshen the air. Normal air fresheners can cause more harm than good. They may smell nice, but they release harmful VOCs which can cause respiratory issues and depending on the ingredients they may also be leaving PFOAs in the air.  Instead of spraying these or using plug ins – a great way to add scent to the air is using cut flowers such as lilies or hyacinths that you catch a whiff of when you walk by.  If flowers exacerbate your allergies, try spraying sheet and clothing spray on your curtains.  Simply spray the fabric a foot away. I also keep a bottle of the sheet and clothing spray in the restroom. It is really an all around product not just for the bedroom!
