Hi, I am Christine Dimmick and I would love to tell you about my company and its history. I started The Good Home Co. on September 18th, 1995 with the mission to create unique products for the home. I have a background in decorating and design (you can see some of my ideas in my decorating book called Home File). It is this love of design and a sincere desire to help others make their home a personalized, relaxing sanctuary that inspired me to develop The Good Home Co. products.
It all began in my New York City kitchen, when I started creating my hand-crafted products. I started giving them to my friends and family as gifts. They kept asking me for more and eventually I began selling them at work and to acquaintances. I designed the first labels myself, and my mom drew our farmhouse logo (still on our products today) which was inspired by memories of my grandparents farm.
In fact, my grandparents farmhouse has always been a source of design inspiration for me. I have wonderful memories of being there as a kid. It had such a special feeling about it and always smelled good. These memories also inspired the fragrances of my home care products. For example, Beach Days is a scent that brings back memories of being a kid on the beach, rolling in the water, then feeling the comfort of a warm towel that's been laying on the beach chair all day. My lavender scent is light and calming and brings back memories of playing outside on a warm sunny afternoon, weaving around the fresh laundry being gently aired on the clothesline, near lavender bushes in bloom.
I truly believe that every inch of your home should be special and I take great care to create unique home care and laundry products that work really well and smell exceptional. I never launch new products unless my friends and family love them! I believe in using natural ingredients whenever possible. And from the very beginning, I have always tested on good people, not good animals.
I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy making them and I always welcome your ideas and suggestions!
Sincerely, Christine Dimmick
